So, after reading a article from the Comox Valley Record, I had to blog.
As many of you know, I hold issues like this close to my heart, as I've been there.
The article tells of a girl, 11 years old, got dropped off at the pool for a swim. She was with some friends, and young adults.
Her mother got a call that her daughter had been molested by a 59 year old man in the change rooms, and to make a long story short.. after the hearing he was released on a 1O,OOO dollar bail.
This infuriates me! Not only will this event scare that little girls life, for the rest of her life.. but that man gets to walk free, with JUST paying a petty, 1O,OOO!
I honestly, cannot believe what our world is coming to. Aren't the jails set in place to protect young kids and adults the same?
This actually makes me not want to take my son out for walks in fear. I don't want to place all 59 year old men in the same category, but it's hard not to when this man is walking free!
If you would like to read the full article with more facts, here's the link

I really don't know who to blame more, the pool for not having adequate security, or the man who shouldn't be walking the streets of Courtenay right now!
I can only hope that that little girl gets help and somehow blocks this horrible event from her mind. Because she's so many more years to grow up and live as a child.
