Hairdresser's Aren't Magicians!

So, I was laying in the bathtub today thinking about what a rockin' job my friend, Katie did on my hair.. and I realized that we expect way way too much out of hairdressers.
I didn't expect much for my hair because over the years I've come to realize that hair never turns out how you want it. Well, this time it did, but that was just a beautiful surprise! She did a amazing job!
But, usually girls walk into salons wanting to go from dark brown, to blond... and it just doesn't work like that.
Hair is a process, it takes a while to go back to blond, you need to go in for 2-4 visits of streaking, and toning and bleaching for it to get to the color you want.

I was lucky because my head was my natural color, dirty blond, so the blond Katie put in just turned out to be the right color.

Hairdressers are talented, but not magicians.. they can't turn black to white like that.
My mom, when she was about 21 or 22, wanted to go from Blond, her natural color, to dark brown.. back then, the salon dye probably wasn't as advanced, and moral of the story? The hairdresser turned her hair green! She had to get it stripped, which is a very painful process... and she ended up having to live with a head full of dull hair for a while!

Why is hair so interchangeable? I used to dye my hair from dark brown to blond, back to brown, back to blond... since becoming pregnant, I've only had my hair done twice, by Katie.. and in between my natural hair color has grown out. I think this is the way to do it. I look better blond anyways, right girls?

Again, thanks katie for the time you took out of your day to make me feel special, and make me look like one smokin' mama!

I can't say I've seen pictures of you sporting any other color but I must say this color suits you very well.
